7 Step Return To Work Programme

  1. Case Manager allocation: We will appoint a dedicated Case Manager to lead you through the process of returning your employee to work. Your Case Manager will ensure that treatments and reports take place in the right place at the right time, and will confirm attendance and deliver progress report.
  2. Full Assessment: A full assessment of the problem by a Therapist accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies Therapist (BABCP) and / or the Health and Care Professions Council (HPC). You will receive: a Therapist Report with recommendations and a full Treatment Plan detailing Treatment Goals and a Projected Return To Work date.
  3. Treatment: Full treatment plan delivered by the same Therapist
    consisting of 6* Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions.
  4. Weekly communication: Your dedicated Case Manager will communicate updates and progress on a minimum weekly basis.
  5. Managed Return Plan: Return To Work Plan which may involve recommendations for a reasonable adjustment which your dedicated Case Manager will support you with.
  6. End of Treatment Report: End of treatment report which will include a clear demonstration of the improvement in the employee’s psychological state through the use of ’before’ and ‘after’ clinical Psychological tests.
  7. Follow-Up: An additional session 3 months after your employee has returned to work to ensure they remain well and productive and aren’t at risk of having more time off with the same problem.

 * In our experience we can resolve most problems with 6 sessions if more should be needed we will notify you immediately.

The report will practically support you with managing your employee’s return to full productivity, and use the Therapist’s extensive knowledge of Return to Work Planning and the legal requirements on ‘Reasonable Adjustment’.

Why do our Therapists use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to treat employees with stress, depression or anxiety?
CBT, or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, is a talking therapy that is goal-orientated with clear time-bound objectives.

It looks in depth at how your employee thinks about a situation and how this may be adversely affecting their behaviour and the way they act. Or alternatively your employee’s behaviour and actions may be negatively influencing how they think and feel and so impairing their performance.

Our Therapist and your employee will work together in changing your employee’s behaviours, or their thinking patterns, or both of these, in order to achieve an accelerated recovery from stress, depression and anxiety and to help them return to full workplace productivity.

CBT in the treatment of stress and depression has been statistically proven to change brain chemistry without medication, and is endorsed right across the board from within the NHS and throughout the private sector.

The short-run success rate with CBT is similar to that of drugs but the effects are more long-lasting – which is no doubt why the National Institute for Clinical Effectiveness (NICE) guidelines on depression say that ‘Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy should be offered, as it is of equal effectiveness to anti-depressants’.

Research shows that 5 years after CBT treatment, 60% of people are still free from stress, anxiety and depression – compared to just 10% of those people who received non-CBT therapy.
